"The White Lion Hotel is situated in Yate Town Centre and borders Bristol at the southern end of the Cotswold escarpment. The beautiful town of Chipping Sodbury is a stone?s throw away, while Highgrove House, home to Prince Charles, is located some 15 miles north east. The White Lion has been trading as an Inn since 1644 and the hotel has seen many changes over the many decades since! Originally it was a small inn, with single accommodation upstairs, but there has been a series of extensions added over the years to transform it into a large hotel with two bars, functions room, lounge, dining area and lots more besides."

Permanent wooden dancefloor Haze/smoke allowed No sound limiter No useable in-house lighting effects No windows No air conditioning No stage area PARKING: Almost immediately outside the pub front door (if lucky) so 20 foot away from building. Good size car park attached otherwise. ACCESS: 20 foot flat from car park, through main door, 4 foot vestibule the straight ahead through double doors. Set on wall opposite these double doors, - another 15-20 foot away. FACILITIES: Large mirror behind, space is 6-7 foot with a 2-3 walkway to loo/kitchen door. You will need to gaffa down across this as this is where the only plug point is. Bar is also on this level, so easy to get people dancing. Light haze allowed - be sensible. No subs needed and be mindful of bass, rooms immediately above and music must finish by 11.45. STAFF: Very friendly. POWER PROVISION: Short extensions (up to 5m) required | |||||||

ACCESS: Access was difficult - we were directed through the public bar (the venue is also a Pub), up a narrow corridor, up three or four steps and then through a single width door. This took us to the upper level of the function room. There is an outside door giving access to the room but this is not in use and was blocked off! FACILITIES: Very small! We were instructed to set up at the far end of the upper level part of the function room where space was limited. - width available: 2-3m - height clearance: 2-3m STAFF: No staff issues POWER PROVISION: Not rated ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: "The function room and bar is a split level room - theres a bar and seating area downstairs and a further seating area upstairs, with a small area at the far end for the disco to set up (in front of a fire place!). The lighting in the room was dreadful as there were some small wall lights, but they werent working. We had to set up in very limited light (the light from the lower area did slightly come through into the upper area) and we opened the curtains as well but then used our own 100w inspec" | |||||||
