PARKING: Large on site car park

ACCESS: Staff wanted us to unload via main entry doors but there was a side fire door which was much nearer to the stage so we used that (the elderly male member of staff didn't like us using it and said that "it made the hall cold when the door was opened"!!!!

FACILITIES: Set up on high stage

STAFF: The rudest people we have EVER encountered at any disco we've ever done!

POWER PROVISION: Plenty of 13A sockets in easy reach

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: "There is an old sound limiter at this venue which doesn't work. The hall was staffed by two elderly people on the night we were there (man and woman) and they were so rude to us that we're tempted to complain to the hall committee as we've never encountered such a poor attitude from staff at venues we've been to! When we arrived we asked about using the side fire door to gain entry to the hall as this was very near to where the stage was located and meant that we didn't have to in via the main double entrance door and then push our equipment through the hallway area and into the hall itself. The man didn't want us to use the fire door and made it quite clear that the reason for this is because it made the room cold when the door was opened! Before we'd even started unpacking our equipment the woman came over to us and said "I'm telling you this only once - the sound limiter doesn't work and I don't want you to turn the music up loud because of our neighbours. If you have it at a level that I feel is too loud, I will come over straight away and give you a chance to turn it down but if I have to come over a second time, I will unplug it and that will damage your equipment"!!!! After we'd set up, but before we'd started playing any music, the woman appeared again, climbed up onto the stage and was poking round, taking a look behind our animated LED backdrop where we store our flight cases. I asked her what she was doing and if I could help her but she said "No I'm just checking" ...... she wouldn't elaborate what she was checking for and then left the stage! During the disco the woman did come over and ask us to turn the music down which was what I'd expected and I did this. It must have been to her satisfaction as she didn't come back again! We'd been booked until 12.00am but at 11.15pm the man came over to us and told us that we had to turn the music off, even though there were guests still present and dancing! I said we'd been booked until 12.00am and I wouldn't be turning if off unless our client who had paid us requested us to do so. The man didn't like this and went off tutting and muttering something so I said "Pardon" but he wouldn't repeat what he'd said. He then came back 5 mins later and again asked me to turn it off but there were still guests dancing so I simply reiterated what I'd said previously. At 11.30pm he was back again and at this point, there was only a handful of guests left in the hall and nobody was dancing so we w"
