Air conditioned No useable in-house lighting effects Handheld volume monitoring No specific dancefloor area No stage area Haze/smoke prohibited No effective blackout PARKING: The hotel carpark can get quite busy but I have been there as a DJ and as an attendee of events and have always managed to park. There are a couple of spaces reserved for loading/unloading nearer the entrance and we were able to use on of these to unload then moved the car to a nearby space. ACCESS: There is no direct access to the function room, you must carry equipment through reception and an adjoining area to get to the function room. It isn't far and its all on one level but you do need to be careful to carry stuff past wedding guests and through a tight doorway, but nothing that would be a major problem for a typical mobile DJ setup appropriate for this sized venue. FACILITIES: You are allocated a corner in the function room which is a little bit tight on space but works well for how the seating and dance floor area work in the room. STAFF: The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful, but also extremely busy dealing with their side of things to ensure the wedding day went well. POWER PROVISION: Plenty of 13A sockets in easy reach ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: "In advance of the event the venue will ask you to sign a waiver agreeing to comply with strict sound levels, and also indemnifying them against any damage you cause to the venue. On sound limited front its just a handheld device and didn't cause us any issues as the room isn't that big which makes it sound louder than it is anyway so you need to turn down the bass anyway or it would just be too much for the room. Please also note that the layout of the beautiful venue and function room means that after the wedding breakfast you must wait for the hotel staff to clear the room before you can start bringing your equipment in, and there isn't enough space for you to setup before their meal. Inevitably wedding speeches run overtime, so you are likely to be squeezed on time for setup. " | |||||||

Park outside the front door in the taxi pickup area to load/unload then move van once unloaded ACCESS: Tricky. Several tight corners to negotiate between reception and the conservatory. Lightweight kit recommended FACILITIES: Set up in the corner of the conservatory where indicated by the venue staff. Very small setup area due to size of room - width available: 2m or less - height clearance: 2m or less STAFF: Very helpful and friendly POWER PROVISION: Plenty of 13A sockets in close proximity to setup area ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: "Very small room so minimal kit is required. Sound must be monitored due to the location being in a residential area and being in a glass conservatory. You will need to turn down volume and bass from around 10pm and its a strict midnight finish. Also gets very hot in the summer as doors have to be closed after 10pm due to noise restrictions." | |||||||
