The Britpop movement saw various interchangeable groups such as Blur, Suede, Pulp, Ash, Supergrass, The Verve and Oasis regularly topping the charts throughout the decade. This was also the decade of the boy band and the girl band, with Take That, East 17, the Spice Girls, Westlife and Boyzone having great success.
	2010s/20s The 2010s saw increased popularisation of hip hop and rap, alongside adult contemporary music from the likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Adele, Pink and many others. Whisperpop became a thing - a hushed vocal style commonly used by artists such as Lana Del Ray, Lorde and Selina Gomez. Traditional instruments made a comeback through artists such as Florence and the Machine, Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers and others. Electronic dance music experienced a revival after a lull during the early 2000s, with DJs leading much of the creative space - artists such as David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, Owl City and more. Teen pop also made a significant comeback through artists such as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato.
