During People's Prime Minister's Questions this week Boris Johnson said:

"I believe it will be possible to deliver...what I think will be more close to normal...by Easter. By Summer it really will be a different world for the weddings and events industry. And I hope your potential customers will be full of confidence and optimism as well and getting hitched in the normal way. I think mass testing will help... well before Easter, but I think you should be able to plan for a much more active Summer and much more happy nuptial events all over the UK.?

We have already seen a sustained 40-50% growth in website visitors and enquiries since the end of the second England lockdown and whilst we are not quite back to the levels seen in December 2019, this is perhaps due to the realisation that Christmas and New Year events won't be taking place, as many December enquiries are usually for NYE.

Once the vaccine deployment commences this side of Christmas we fully expect interest in booking DJs and entertainment services to start to recover, leading to a bumper January. Members are reminded that a great way to outperform the competition in advertising terms is to use our Postcode Banner feature which will get your branding (and links to your website) onto many hundreds of venue pages in your area. Right now these remain half price and can be pre-booked for January onwards. See Member Dashboard - Profile - Advertising Upgrades for more details, or visit Postcode Banners.

We will continue to review the situation and update the relevant articles accordingly. At present we are still rebating subscriptions until the end of December (to be reviewed) where our performance in respect of new enquiries falls short of 2019, and extending PLI/PAT proof for DJmark and enquiry filtering purposes for those members whose documentation expired after 23rd March 2020. See our other news articles for more details on these schemes.
